In the shop, opt for an azalea with evenly distributed buds. Ideally, buds will still be closed while already revealing the colour of the flowers. The leaves of an azalea should be at a more or less horizontal angle. Avoid curled leaves as these are a sign of trouble.

Extra-long flowering? Then choose an azalea in a blue pot – the marker of a Hortinno azalea. By definition, these plants have already undergone a stringent process of quality control.
